So Scotland Want Independence

Let them have it :) Seriously, running a country can not be that easy. Take for example university fees. If you live south of the border you have to pay up to £9,000 per year for university fees. North of the border £0.00. SOuth of the border, prescriptions cost money, north of the border £0.00. I heard a great analogy today, that Scotland is like moving into your own place, but taking your washing home at weekends for your mum to do. Now because of Scotland's position, and the North Sea oil fields, there is a claim that Scotland want to keep all of the revenue for themselves. However, what they have not taken into account is that the infrastructure to develop the fields and the support networks, has come from the UK government, so therefore would it not be fair that, in order for Scotland to receive the full benefit of the tax, they should pay back the investment to the future English government? Or how about the Royal Bank of Scotland. One of Scotland's premier banks, that during the credit crisis failed massively. A conservative estimate is that the UK government owns approximately 84% of RBS, with an estimated value of £26 billion. So it is only fair that they buy their own national bank back. But wait, no, the Scottish National Party don't want to do that. They want independence with a clean slate. I for one will be sad to see the break up of the United Kingdom, but if that is the decision of the majority of the Scottish people then you have to respect it. However, if it becomes a situation that they have independence but keep demanding money from the rest of the union, then someone, somewhere will have to make a decision and put a stop to it.
